Engineering

In addition to singing, I am also a classical recording engineer.

I became a recording engineer because I wanted to create the kinds of recordings I love — warm and natural, visceral and risky, musical and emotional. I wanted to capture not just the excitement of a great live performance, but the excitement I feel when I am part of a great live performance.

To do this, I work as both engineer and producer: carefully placing microphones to capture the full timbre of each instrument, helping artists feel safe expressing their musical ideas to the fullest, and judiciously editing and mixing until the recording portrays the best that the artist has to offer.

My equipment includes Schoeps and Neumann mics, RME preamps and conversion, and 2 4K Sony cameras for video.

Please email me so we can explore working together.
